Mission:
Waukesha Forward is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to engaging all shareholders on local issues.  We seek to derive common sense solutions through factual dialogue with the community and facilitate change by informing and influencing decision-makers.  This results in prosperous communities with thriving businesses, a responsible tax rate, respect for all Community members, well-educated citizens, low crime and a high standard of living.

Board of Directors

Paul Bickler
Paul has been a resident of Waukesha since 1993 and is a Maufacturing Engineering Manager at Cooper Power Systems.  He is married to Cindy, a nurse, and has one daughter Susannah who will be a Junior at Waukesha South High School and is involved in orchestra and two sports.  Paul was active with Site Council at Randall Elementary and was part of the community task force for the 2001 referendum.  He also coached youth soccer for seven years and sings in choir at St. Matthias in Waukesha.  "Waukesha is a great place to live, work and raise a family.  We chose Waukesha over other communities in the area for the great schools and real sense of community we felt.  I am proud to say I live in Waukesha."

Don Lavrenz
Don has lived in Waukesha since 1984 and is an engineer and managing partner at Absolute Automation Systems, Inc. (AASI), which is located in Sussex and employs approximately 30 people. He is married to Dennise, and their son Donny will be a junior at Waukesha North. Donny is a drum major in the NorthStar Marching Band and is involved in numerous extra-curricular activities.

Don's community involvement includes 10 years as a youth soccer coach, most recently with the Waukesha North High School indoor soccer team. He has also been a financial supporter of the NorthStar Marching Band. "I am grateful for the experiences made available to my son through the Waukesha schools, and believe that future students deserve the same opportunities. A strong school system, with a broad range of curriculums and activities, benefits the entire community."

Trevor Barnes
Trevor lives in Waukesha with his wife Suzanne and two daughters Megan and Beatrice. The family moved from England to Wisconsin in 2001 and chose to live in the Waukesha school district because of its excellent reputation. "We have since become permanent residents and have stayed because it’s just a great place to bring up a family".
Trevor currently works for a software company, IFS North America and has been business consulting and managing ERP system implementations for the last ten years. He currently is president of the Waukesha South High School Band Boosters and is a passionate supporter of music in schools. He wants to maintain a broad curriculum and a high standard of education for all students in the community.

Deborah Hankel
Debi has been a Waukesha resident since she got married and bought a historic property here in 1983. She is married to E John Simon Jr. and has two daughters, Katherine, who just completed her junior year at Vassar College in New York and Juliet, who just completed her freshman year at Waukesha North. Debi divides her professional time between working as a historic preservation consultant and teaching adult English as a Second Language classes. She is also an active community volunteer, having served on numerous boards and commissions. She also volunteers regularly for various community events. "Being active in the community has helped me to appreciate both how lucky we are to live here and how important is is for citizens to participate to insure a vital future for the city."
